This super rare car, still wearing its original paint, is a real investment opportunity for the discerning collector. Chassis number 31894 is a late production car being 204th from the end of the line. We have expertly treated all areas of the bodywork to preserve the originality and beauty of the mild patina taken on over the years. All elements of the running gear have received our finest attention to ensure it pedals like new. Exterior - Original Danube Blue paintwork over black wheels and chromed hub caps with Dunlop chord tyres.
Interior - Untouched light green seating with black piping accompanied by a grey fascia surrounding the clock panel on the dash.
Electrics - Horn and headlights are powered by batteries housed in an original style case under the bonnet. All functioning exactly as they should.
Condition Class: As this car is completely original it sits in a class of its own!

All pedal and running gear has been thoroughly but sensitively restored by our team to ensure the car will pedal just as it did when it left the factory in 1971. Electrics have been refreshed, including a new wiring loom in period correct pink wire. As such, the original Lucas horn gives a pleasant ‘beep’ and the headlights beam with delight at a flick of the toggle switch.
Patina a-bound, but exactly as we love it here at Austin Pedal Cars. Surface rust has been preserved rather than removed. We use a special blend of wax to stabilise light rust so that it remains but doesn’t spread and by doing so, we maintain the true beauty of that genuine patina but ensure the bodywork will endure another fifty years of life.
Features such as the visible stamped chassis number on the boot floor, which often gets overpainted during a restoration, and the presence of the body ‘hanging’ marks where the paint was applied in the factory, show period provenance. The seat back panel is painted in yellow; often mistaken for a replacement, this is another original factory item to add to the list of areas proving the cars originality.
The seating is in light green with the later model stitching pattern. It has clearly been used but shows no signs of damage and will likely last the lifetime of the car.
Fully inspected by Austin Pedal Cars, this car is eligible for the Settrington Cup, would look perfect in any collection and is offered with a 12-month Austin Pedal Cars warranty.
