Put the kettle on, sit back and take a tour of Austin Pedal Cars with Dominic in his latest YouTube film.
Dominic Chinea will be well-known to many of you from TVs The Repair Shop and perhaps also his excellent Revive and Thrive area at the annual Goodwood Revival event. Most recently he has also become a great ambassador for the Austin J40, and he undertook his very own home restoration of a rather battered and well used example.
Austin Pedal Cars first met Dominic when he was browsing some of our pedal cars at the April 2022 Bicester Heritage Scramble event, and we were only too happy to help when Dominic approached us for help with the restoration of his own J40 sometime last year.
If you have been watching his YouTube channel, you will already know the epic journey he went on to bring his Austin pedal car back to life, and if you haven’t you’re in for a treat as you have some catching up to do…and every episode is a great watch.
As his overhaul comes to an end, Dominic paid a visit to Austin Pedal Cars to collect a box-full of pedal car parts needed to add the finishing touches to his project. While he was there he joined Matt Merriman for a tour of both Austin Pedal Cars and parent company Burlen, and he filmed every moment for you to enjoy.
In his latest film you can see how we make all Austin J40 parts in-house, carry out pedal car restorations and even see how Burlen makes and restores SU, Amal and Zenith carburetters. And it is safe to say Dominic enjoyed himself, as he stayed from morning to night, finally leaving, box of parts in hand, as darkness fell.
It has been a pleasure to support Dominic revive his Austin J40 and we look forward to its first public appearance at the 2025 Goodwood Revival, taking place later this year.
